Massage Shouldn’t Be a Luxury

Massage is an investment in your physical and mental well-being, not just a luxury or a “treat.” It allows you to live with less pain and stress—and you deserve that.

Testimonials

I highly recommend David! He’s very professional and has this wonderful, genuinely kind energy about him. I always feel so much better afterward. He creates a peaceful, safe atmosphere, and his massage techniques both heal and relax. I’m really looking forward to my next appointment! —Allison

I recently got the chance to experience a massage for the first time, from my own home! The entire experience was so relaxing, and afterwards I felt like I could actually move for the first time in years. He was very professional throughout the whole experience. —SS

David takes his time to get to know you and your issues and also gives you information about what he can suggest as helpful massage in areas that you might have issues with. He is VERY communicative and explains what he is about to do and always checks for your comfort. —Joe

What to Expect

Maybe you’ve never gotten a massage before—or maybe you feel hesitant about seeing a new therapist. I understand that there’s a vulnerability to letting someone touch your body, even in a professional context.

Part of my job is to hold space—professionally, respectfully, and quietly—so that you can feel safe enough to let go and experience the full benefits of your massage.

Here’s how I try to honor that:

  • I explain everything I’m going to do before I do it.
  • I remind clients that you can speak up at any time—“stop,” “change,” “that’s enough.”
  • I listen not just with my ears, but with my hands.
  • I never push you past what your body—or your spirit—is ready for.

When I arrive at your home or hotel, here’s what happens:

  • I’ll set up my table while you fill out an intake form. The form tells you what to expect and gives you the opportunity to tell me about your needs.
  • I’ll step away to wash my hands. At that time, you may undress to your comfort level, then get under the sheet on the table.
  • You will remain draped during the massage. The only part of your body showing will be what I’m working on.
  • Your private areas will always remain draped.

About Mercer Massage, LCC

I’m David Mercer, licensed massage therapist and owner of Mercer Massage, LLC. I’ve been a pastor, a teacher, and a grocery store clerk. I understand what it means to be physically and emotionally spent at the end of each day. There was a time in my life when I was exhausted and unbelievably stressed, and getting a massage helped ease the tension, clear my mind, and allow me to cope. At the age of 62, I went back to school to become a massage therapist so I could pass on that sense of well-being to others. My mission is simple: To help one person at a time through massage.
